Marina Elizabeth Habe

Marina Habe was the 17-year-old daughter of writer Hans Habe and actress Eloise Hardt.  In December 1968, she was home on Christmas vacation from the University of Hawaii.

On Sunday afternoon (December 29, 1968), Marina left home to visit her boyfriend at his parent's house.  At about 8:30 p.m., they met two other couples at a cafe on Santa Monica Boulevard.  They returned to his house at about 11:30 p.m.  At around 3:15 a.m., Marina departed for the twenty minute drive home.

At 3:30 a.m. Monday morning, Marina's mother was awakened by a loud car.  She looked out and saw a man standing beside her daughter's car.  A car then backed out of the driveway and the man ran over and got into the passenger side.  Miss Hardt thought she heard someone shout "Let's go!"  She could not see her daughter.

On Wednesday, January 1, 1969, a driver spotted Marina's purse on Mulholland Drive.  A search by the sheriff's department discovered her body off the side of Mullholland about 100 yards west of Bowmont Drive.  She had been stabbed to death.

Many people believe Marina was a victim of the Manson Family.  Click here for a news story.
