Police Will Quiz Two Men In NY About Tate Death
Los Angeles Times
September 7, 1969
Two Los Angeles police detectives went to New York Saturday to question two
gunmen about the Sharon Tate murder case.
Inspector Peter Hagen said "routine" ballistics tests would undoubtedly be
made on three loaded guns in the possession of the two men when they were
arrested.
New York Police sources said attention was especially centering around a
.22-caliber weapon seized during the arrest of the pair.
The two men to be questioned are both Californians, David Wayne Weatherl, 24,
of Chico, and Dennis Duanne Harford, 24 of Oroville.
They were charged by New York police with possession of 100 lbs. of marijuana
and the three loaded guns.
Hagen said the two were being questioned mainly because they were from
California, there were weapons in their car and marijuana was seized.
Miss Tate and four others were slain in Miss Tate's Benedict Canyon Home
August 8.
