Previous Arrest Of Manson And Girl Told
Ukiah (UPI) - Charles Manson, leader of a hippie group suspected of
ritual killings, was arrested in Mendocino County in 1967 for interfering with a
deputy who was apprehending a 14-year-old runaway girl.
Records show that Manson, 35, received a 30-day suspended sentence on the
charge.
Susan Atkins, a member of Manson's following, was also arrested in Mendocino
County June 22, 1968. She was one of six persons seized in a narcotics raid on a
house near Booneville.
