DIRECTIONS

We're always looking for new and original photos of these sites.  If you visit and take some shots, we'd love to see them.  Also, please do not bother the current residents of any of these houses.

THE SHARON TATE HOUSE
10050 Cielo Drive (street number was later changed to 10066)
Thomas Brothers map, page 32 at F3.
From Sunset in Beverly Hills, turn north onto Benedict Canyon.  Then turn left onto Cielo Drive.  The Tate house was not actually on Cielo even though it carries that address.  Proceed on Cielo until you see a private street on the left (near the corner of Bella Drive).  If you get to Davies Drive, you've gone too far.  There are about four houses on the street and the last is on the former site of the Tate residence.  Unfortunately, the house was torn down in the 1990s and replaced with a gigantic new structure.  Even the original gate is long gone.  You never could get too good of a view from there but you can from across the narrow canyon at the top of Bella Drive (which is a public road).  The entrance to this street is right at the entrance to the private road that Sharon's house was on.

THE LENO AND ROSEMARY LaBIANCA HOUSE
3301 Waverly Drive (street number was later changed to 3311)
Thomas Brothers map, page 35 at B2.
Click here for the MapQuest map.
From Interstate 5 (Golden State Freeway), exit at Glendale Boulevard.  This exit will possibly send you north and you'll have to turn around.  You need to go south on Glendale and then turn right onto Rowena.  After about a block, you'll see St. George Street veering to the right.  Take that road.  At the end of that street, you'll intersect Waverly.  The house right across the intersection is the LaBianca house.  The street number has been changed from 3301 to 3311 and there has been some construction to the front and right-side of the house.  You'll easily recognize it, though.

THE GARY HINMAN HOUSE
964 Old Topanga Canyon Road
Thomas Brothers map, page 35 at B2.
From U.S. 101 (Ventura Freeway), exit at Topanga Canyon Boulevard.  Go south up the canyon.  Shortly below the top, turn right on Old Topanga Canyon Road and continue for about 1.3 miles.  Partially hidden in the trees on the right side is the Hinman house. The street number is 964.  I've heard that the house had been greatly expanded in size.

THE WILLET MURDER HOUSE
720 West Flora Street, Stockton, California

THE JAY SEBRING HOUSE
9820 Easton Drive
Thomas Brothers map, page 32 at F2.
Jay's house isn't too far from Sharon's (you'd just go back down Cielo and turn left onto Benedict Canyon).  These directions will start your from Sunset Boulevard, though.  From the Boulevard, turn north on Benedict Canyon and drive for about three miles.  When you see Westwanda, you're very close.  About 100 yards ahead will be Easton Drive on the right side.  Turn onto Easton and drive about 0.2 of a mile.  The street is quite narrow and the house is on the right side.  The two-story house isn't very visible due to high fences and trees.  The house is also infamous for being the home and suicide/murder scene of Paul Bern.  This is the house where Sharon Tate reportedly saw the ghost of Bern.

SPAHN MOVIE RANCH
Off the 118, exit "Topanga Canyon Blvd" and go south (the only way you can go).  Drive to "Santa Susana Pass Road" and go right (West).  Drive about 1/8 - 1/3 mile on Santa Susana Pass Road.  Look for the church parking lot access road on the right which leads up to, of course, the church parking lot.  It is a two lane road, about 200 feet in length, and has a chain link fence running along side it.  Directly across the street (from this church parking lot road) is the Spahn Ranch, the part where the little western town stood.
